NoMoreClipboard was selected by CMS to participate in a personal health record pilot in Arizona and Utah. The Medicare PHR Choice Pilot, which began in January 2009, enables Medicare beneficiaries in those two states to create a PHR and populate it with available Medicare claims data. Participating Medicare beneficiaries can create a NoMoreClipboard account and create a linkage with Noridian, the Medicare claims processor for Arizona and Utah. After entering authentication data, Noridian verifies the identity of the beneficiary and makes the previous two years of claims data available to NoMoreClipboard. NoMoreClipboard imports available data in a CCD format and uses it to populate the PHR. As new claims for individual beneficiaries are processed by Noridian, that data is fed to NoMoreClipboard and added to the PHR account. Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers can use the NoMoreCliboard PHR to manage and share health information. Beneficiaries can find their physicians in the NoMoreClipboard database and send their PHR data to the practices they select. NoMoreClipboard then delivers the PHR to the practice. With the addition of Medicare claims data, physicians get a more complete and accurate picture of patient conditions, medications and other important health information.
NoMoreClipboard was one of only four PHR vendors selected after a competitive bidding process. Since being selected, NoMoreClipboard has participated in CMS outreach activities aimed at educating Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers on the benefits of personal health records. NoMoreClipboard has also worked closely with area healthcare IT organizations. "NoMoreClipboard has been very active in helping our organization promote personal health records to Arizona consumers, physicians, hospitals and other stakeholders," said Brad Tritle, Executive Director of Arizona Health-e Connection (AzHeC). AzHeC is a not-for-profit organization charged with leading Arizona’s establishment of health information exchange and adoption of health information technology. "NoMoreClipboard is demonstrating the value of populating a PHR with existing claims information and making that information available to healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes."
